Sanlam UK was honoured at the Investment Week Fund Manager of the Year Awards, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on 5 July. Craig Veysey, Lead Manager: Sanlam Strategic Bond Fund, won in the Strategic Bond category and Mike Pinggera, Lead Manager: Sanlam Multi-Strategy Fund, in the Absolute Return-Multi Asset category.

The awards recognise individuals who shape the future of the investment industry. The judges use a rigorous methodology to look at the individual fund and manager performance, with their findings then reviewed by two expert panels from the UK wealth and fund of fund investment community.

‘These awards are not only testimony to our philosophy, but provide a huge boost for the teams running the respective funds. They also help demonstrate the forward-thinking and client-centric nature of the UK business, which is good for the entire Sanlam Group,’ says Jonathan Polin, CEO: Sanlam UK.

‘To win one award in our competitive and fast-paced industry is a huge achievement – but to win 10 awards in just six months is truly mind blowing. We attribute this to the hard work and commitment of our team in the UK.’

Global High Quality Fund, led by Pieter Fourie, also garnered a top accolade, with the fund being hailed as Best Fund at the City of London Wealth Management Awards in March. In addition, Pieter was recognised individually in the Outstanding Achievement category.

Sanlam UK’s other industry awards for 2018:

  • Sanlam Global High Quality Fund: Long Only Equity Fund – Long Term Performance – Investors Choice
