A new year dawns with a heightened need for a fresh start. With 2020 now firmly behind us, we can approach this year with renewed hope and a desire to seek new and exciting opportunities. Caution will need to be exercised, but there is much to feel positive about.

Sanlam invites you to join Gideon Nell, Mike Pingerra and Pieter Fourie at the Portfolio Manager’s Quarterly Strategy Update and Q&A: A Retrospective and Outlook onThursday, 21 January 2021 for individual informative virtual strategy update sessions. These portfolio managers will address how their respective strategies have performed, and the outlook for the year ahead.

On the 12th June 2018, Sanlam Private Wealth and the South African Chamber of Commerce co-hosted an exclusive event with Dr Adriana Marais at the Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel in Port Louis. Dr Adriana Marais is an award-winning theoretical physicist, Head of Innovation at SAP Africa and aspiring extraterrestrial.

Sanlam UK was honoured at the Investment Week Fund Manager of the Year Awards, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on 5 July. Craig Veysey, Lead Manager: Sanlam Strategic Bond Fund, won in the Strategic Bond category and Mike Pinggera, Lead Manager: Sanlam Multi-Strategy Fund, in the Absolute Return-Multi Asset category.

To us, the opening of our first private wealth office in Africa outside of South Africa was a significant milestone and a true celebration.

On Friday 8 June, we celebrated Sanlam’s 100th birthday. Over the past century, we’ve grown from a small Cape-based life insurance company servicing the Afrikaans community to a fully diversified financial services group, one that proudly does business across Africa and globally, operating in all segments of the market. And for the past 19 years, Sanlam Private Wealth has formed part of this remarkable journey.
